A couple weeks back, I DJed for a Sugar City show to benefit the opening of a new art space in Buffalo. From beginning to end, the show was a lot of fun. Starting off with a lot of old funk and disco to capping the night off by getting busted up by the cops. You couldn’t ask for anything more. However, the police disrupted the peak of the set I was playing. Therefore, I did a one-take of the set and now I’m posting it online. Hope you enjoy it. It runs a bit over an hour so find a comfortable seat. Track list after the cut.
Continuing on with posting weekly Paper Planes remixes, this one comes from MC Chris. Is it time yet for M.I.A. to put this song into retirement yet? So many people have put their hand in this song at this point and unless something blows me away, this is going to be the last Paper Planes remix I post. Enjoy it.
Furthering proof that Pineapple Express is NOT for the children, Huey Lewis has just polished up his theme for the movie Pineapple Express. Yeah. Who remembers that guy? Not children! Does Huey Lewis doing the theme suddenly remove the hipster schtick from using M.I.A. in the trailer? Does it suddenly turn Seth Rogan into Michael J. Fox? If Michael Bay produced Pineapple Express, would it just be a remake of Back To The Future? Huey Lewis always knows how to stir up a striking conversation among internet friends.
Did you ever have to tell someone the Huey Lewis definitely didn’t sing “Addicted To Love”? Who remembers Spuds Mackenzie?
In what will probably be the funniest movie (or only funny movie) this year, Pineapple Express, released a red band version of the trailer a little while ago. It’s pretty much the same thing except 3 more swear words, 2 genitalia references, and a few more weed references. Is Seth Rogan killing it or what (bet you never heard that on the internet before)?
Besides, all this gives me an excuse to post a Them Jeans remix of M.I.A.’s Paper Planes. Not a bad trade off, eh?
