So How Old Do YOU Think Busy P Is?

busyp So How Old Do YOU Think Busy P Is?

No disrespect to the guy but seriously… how old?

I keep hearing people tell me that 30 is the new 20. No. 30 is when I have to start putting on a suit to work and think about having kids but god bless the people who never give it up. People like this give me a lot of hope being in my mid-20s and playing music that isn’t my own. I’m at the age where people either still get kind of pumped on the next U2 single or they start a DIY CD-R punk record label. Ugh… my life doesn’t fit in either of those!!! :-(((((

But man, Busy P even made Murs look good. The last person to do that was this guy:

Sorry. Not diggin’ it, Murs. I don’t know how Pedro pulls it off. As far as I remember, being the 30-something pop punk band still playing at local battle of the bands made you semi-creepy for no reason other than you were old. Times are a changing, man. Time are a changing.

It’s Almost The Weekend!

Today is Thursday. That’s one day away from the official start of the first weekend in June. And thing have started with a loud bang so far. The other day Ed Banger released Volume 3 of it’s “Best of…” of series. If you are still one of the 4 people on the planet that don’t talk about Justice or how Busy P used to manage Daft Punk, you should probably check it out. The “Stress” Justice mix is probably better than the original. Why are almost all of Justice’s Live mixes better than the originals? Just sayin’. New drinking game. Every time a DJ plays a song from Ed Rec Volume 3 in the month of June, take a shot.

Hot news out of New York yesterday as Tim from Long Island sends me this text message:

“Hey love in an elevator mash up with love in this club.”

I think he’s on to something. I have a day off on Saturday and what better way to celebrate Steven Tyler’s recent exit from rehab than pairing him up with someone for the 18-24 yr old market. Might help his career. Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, it was rehab for a “foot injury”. Yeah… sure, Steve. And I shit guitars.

Kurt Cobain’s ashes are missing. That news somehow made me remember when Fred Durst claimed Puddle of Mudd was the next Nirvana. Where were you when “She Hates Me” dropped?

Now and then I forget everything I’ve ever read about EQing. Such was the case when I was trying to rip off this:

I think information sharing is so taboo on the blogosphere when it comes to audio production so since I got the most awesome email on EQing on a mailing list at the exact time I needed it, I figure I’ll dish out the most in depth website for Ableton Live. It costs money but worth every penny when you are in a pinch. Better hurry over and learn up at MusicSoftwareTraining.com before Girl Talk’s new album drops in a couple weeks.
